Although the investigation is in process, some names have come up as those who are working behind the scam. These include Biplab Sinha and Suman Hazra, regular suppliers to the hospital. The link is to the former principal of the college, Sandip Ghosh, who is believed to have a mastermind role in this scheme. Bills Fake, Repairs Artificial

The ED has filed an Enforcement Case Information Report-ECIR, zeroing in on the ill-gotten gains of those involved in the scam.
One of the major developments had ED officials raid various locations, one of them being the residence of Ghosh and his relatives. The search operations are pursued to trace the hidden accumulation of wealth and bank accounts that were allegedly made from corrupt practices at R.G. Kar Medical College.
