Real Madrid thrash Real Valladolid 3-0 in La Liga

Real Madrid dominated to an easy 3-0 win at the Santiago Bernabéu against Real Valladolid on August 25, 2024. Federico Valverde and Brahim Diaz found the score sheet, and the starlet Endrick wrapped the win home with great emphasis for Madrid. Level on points with leaders Real Sociedad, Real Madrid stayed in pole position in La Liga on course for a record 36th league championship title.

Goalless First Half of Domination
The first half typified full chances and resilient defending, with Real Madrid’s dominance in ball possession reported at 64%, consistently pinning Valladolid down in their own half. Madrid had dominated for so long but simply could not get the ball into the back of the net, with Valladolid’s defense standing firm.

Luka Modric operated in midfield like a conductor from Real Madrid, churning out numerous opportunities. Rodrygo darted up and down the right wing, rolling across enough dangerous balls across the box. Valladolid’s goalkeeper and defense managed to stand their ground, making sure the end of the first half was shared by the Madrid raiders.

Federico Valverde Breaks the Deadlock
Real Madrid got much stronger after the break. Five minutes into the game, they scored the first goal. And when we talk about a player who really knows how to strike the ball from outside the box, Federico Valverde is on that list. The Uruguayan received the ball from Rodrygo just at the edge of the box, turned very fast, and simply smashed the shot in toms that Valladolid could not stop, hence 1-0 to Real Madrid in the 50th minute.

The goal raised the home crowd, who looked to galvanize the whole team. Now oozing with confidence, Madrid played even more confidently as a team. They pushed on for more goals relentlessly.

Brahim Diaz Doubles the Lead
The game developed and Real Madrid did gradually tighten the noose on it. Their midfield trio of Modric, Valverde, and Dani Ceballos took the pace of the game in hand and hence provided Madrid with the opportunities to roam the length of the field. Fresh legs in Brahim Díaz and Endrick only added an extra dimension to Madrid’s attack.

The lethargic Valladolid defense was punished by Brahim Diaz in the 88th minute. Eder Militao is starting another forward run from his defensive position and finds a pass to Diaz with great accuracy.

He controlled the once, steadied himself, and slotted the ball into the bottom corner to give Madrid a 2-0 advantage. It was a goal well deserved on the basis of the energetic display that Diaz had turned out since coming on as a substitute.

Late winner from Endrick.
Real Madrid kept pressing for more goals until the end and were not ready to just sit back with a two-goal cushion. Still well inside the added time, Endrick truly nailed the Valladolid coffin shut—a Brazilian wonderkid introduced to replace Kylian Mbappe. Receiving from Brahim Diaz, the 16 year-old operated with maturity way above his years, dancing around the defender before curling in a great shot to put it in the far corner for 3-0 in the 96th.

Now, stack this all up with another Real Madrid display of dominance: Endrick strike. It all came to show great flashes of the promise that the young forward has for the future, thus putting him in good strides towards being a Bernabeu favorite.

Key Player Performances
Federico Valverde: Excellent in the Madrid midfield, he had the rhythm at his feet but scored the important opening goal. With his brown eyes, he often dribbles through lines with his running and puts shots at goal. That’s what makes him so important for the Madrid midfield.

Brahim Díaz: The substitute had a good intervention for Blancos in their victory, finding the second goal and assisting the third to Endrick. His creativity and the direct approach were important in the breakthrough through the defense of Valladolid.

Endrick: Carving out an argument to be included since the first whistle with maturity and class, this young Brazilian almost showed the potential he has once again, being absolutely composed when he netted the last goal for the match.

Projection on Luka Modric: It’s, therefore, absurd to note that at 38 years of age he is still the one managing everything in the midfield. His vision and absolute presence on the ball are key to unlock the Valladolid side, and that is really the leadership which the expected Real Madrid should have on the pitch.
Carlo Ancelotti’s set-up plan was to make Real Madrid dominate possession and widen the field. Required width by the team was provided by Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior. Madrid did this in order to stretch Valladolid’s defense and that gave space for the midfield players. The use of Valverde as box-to-box gave both defensive solidity and attacking threat to Madrid.

Valladolid, however, came with the mindset to defend and hit Madrid on the break. Able to repel Madrid in the opening period, they finally couldn’t keep up their defensive shape all the way through the second half—what became their undoing.

Conclusion: Real Madrid’s Title Charge Continues
Real Madrid rocks Real Valladolid 3-0, claiming the La Liga title with an oiled defense, a midfield relay that is full of creativeness, and an attack that punishes. But all in all, the display against Valladolid has put Los Blancos in fine stead to mount challenges for silverware this term and attested their depth and quality from established stars to young talents.

Real Madrid will continue hoping to last through the season at least from the point of form and winning ways. With Valverde, Diaz, and Endrick all having big impressions, there is every reason to be excited about the future of Los Blancos. Winning against Valladolid was not just a win of three big points for Madrid but put them right in the mix for the crown of La Liga.
