In a complete dramatic game full of adrenaline moments, goals, and late heroics, Bayern Munich dominated possession yet some key seemed to be short at points as Eintracht Frankfurt dealt things well with resilience and determination in order to warrant a point with Omar Marmoush scoring a brace. The game ended in 3-3 tie at the Deutsche Bank Park.

First Half: Took off to a Tearing Pace and Momentum Flipped Over
The team played to their terms right from the word go as both sides wanted the ball to be in their control at the beginning. Bayern Munich, through their favorite swift one-touch football and high pressing, reacted as early as the 15th minute by giving themselves an opening account. South Korean centre-back Min-Jae Kim rose above the Frankfurt defence to nod in a corner from Thomas Müller to give Bayern a 1-0 advantage. The early goal suited the intent Bayern wanted to give the game from the start with possession control.

However, Eintracht Frankfurt didn’t give up and responded seven minutes later in the 22nd minute when Omar Marmoush levelled things at 1-1 to see the side end the first half with a positive note. From close range and assisted by Ansgar Knauff, Marmoush did not miss as the side kept playing to brighten the home side’s mood.

Bayern had really fallen behind in the 35th minute of the game courtesy of Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt. The striker received an excellent Marmoush pass and sent the rattling shot past Bayern’s custodian Sven Ulreich with clinical precision. What an elated crowd was witnessing before their eyes as their team gobbled up Bayern’s defensive lapse to lead the game 2-1.

Bayern’s relentless pressure finally yielded fruit on the 53 rd minute as Michael Olise gifted visitors lead the match once again. Bayern were driving 3-2 ahead after this young winger chipped the Harry Kane pass, thumping home from a well-struck shot. Bayern thus appeared to be taking the match home at this stage as they accumulated such a humongous ball possessions and attacking stats.

Although Eintracht Frankfurt lost the center of the park, they never lost hope. They were going to make some alterations in their attack to resuscitate it with the inclusion of Mario Götze and Junior Bahoya with the intent of creating some creativity in the final third. Bayern Munich opted to have a reshuffle to strengthen the defense for stabilizing through Eric Dier and Konrad Laimer.

Bayern’s midfield, marshaled by rejuvenated Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller saw well over half the game in their pocket, having completed 863 passes to Frankfurt’s 305. Visitors had 23 shots to Frankfurt’s six, although 13 of Bayern’s strikes did find the back of the net. Yet despite dominating so much of this game Bayern were unable to capitalise on the chances they created in order to extend their lead, partly due to some brilliant defending by Frankfurt and some super saves by Kevin Trapp in the Frankfurt goal.
