Mysuru Dasara: A Celebration of Splendor and Culture
Mysuru Dasara is much more than a festival. It is followed as heritage, tradition, and devotional values. The grand processions, the breathtaking lights, and the scintillating performances make this city of Mysuru a multicolored extravaganza. The Wadiyar dynasty had initiated Dasara celebrations that would take ten days to culminate before Vijayadashami. The Yuva Dasara festival honors the new and fresh talent of young artists and contemporary performance in tune with the traditional spirit of the festival.

Yuva Dasara 2016 is to host its program between 6th and 10th October. It will be held in an area of 100 acres located near Uttanahalli on the outskirts of Mysuru. The venue has been shifted from city center as millions are going to throng the venue to witness this musical showpiece. Even the opening night saw attendance go past one lakh, and the succeeding days promise to thicken the crowd still further.

The mega-event has already started with a rocking note, and Shreya Ghoshal has delivered that sultry performance that set the tone for a truly unforgettable musical experience. Did Shreya Ghoshal Bewitch Audience on First Day?
Headlining the opening night on October 6 was nothing short of the reigning queen of voices-Shreya Ghoshal. On a superficial level, of course, one name automatically springs to mind when it sends melody and poise to the Indian music industry, and that is Shreya Ghoshal. Known for her magic voice and versatility, Shreya certainly left the utterly enchanted crowd enthralled as she got through many of her hits-it’s their staple item: the kind of appeal authentic Bollywood numbers like “Sunn Raha Hai” from Aashiqui 2 have.

But what really won the local crowd’s hearts and minds was some of her own favorites, in “Ondu Male Billu” from Chakravarthy and “Saaluthillave” from Kotigobba 2. The listener was totally under her spell, and the gracious manner in which she moved from Bollywood to regional chart-toppers marked her as someone who could blend easily and effortlessly.

Dhvani Bhanushali and Ravi Basrur were power-packed performances
Bollywood playback singer Dhvani Bhanushali was also part of the opening night of the event. With chart-toppers like “Dilbar” and “Koka,” Dhvani indeed brings fresh and young energy to the evening. Her performance went well but, as was expected from most of these songs for a young audience, she did manage to garner her due appreciation.

But the pièce de résistance of the evening was Karnataka’s very own music composer Ravi Basrur, who stole the show with some great performances. Known for the KGF series, Ravi Basrur and his team delivered hits like “Toofan” from the sequel of KGF and “Ugramm Veeram” from Ugramm. The excitement hugged the air as the audience thronged to high-octane music that made the opening night of Mysuru Yuva Dasara 2024 one for the books.

Days Left: AR Rahman, Badshah, Ilaiyaraaja in store
Much groundwork has been done by Shreya Ghoshal and Ravi Basrur but excitement on the remaining days for Mysuru Yuva Dasara 2024 is high. After all, some of India’s biggest music talents are in the schedule for the next few days. That surely promises to be an electrifying finish to the five-day musical extravaganza.

Badshah to Thrill Crowd on Oct 8th
While the night will see Badshah headlining on 8th October, the beats at such a show go even more exciting and party anthems to be well taken home with such tempting and guaranteed huge crowds mainly the young crowd. The act takes off on a rollicking start as playback singers Jaskaran Singh and Sangeetha Ravindranath prep-up for Badshah’s long-awaited act. Starting at 8 PM in the evening, this time would mark when, as night would be on, the rapper would entertain everyone with some of the biggest hits that would morph into a pulsating musical party.

October 9: AR Rahman to perform
And on October 9, it will be the turn of the legendary – the Academy Award-winning composer, the real maestro of Indian music – AR Rahman. Definitely, probably one of the most waited performances during the whole festival is going to be performed by Rahman, whose music is filled with both the tradition of the best elements of Indian classical and modernism of today’s sounds. His music is at once both tradition and absolutely advanced.

It will be followed by a cultural rendition by the local artists of Mysuru and end with a performance by AR Rahman at 7. Hopefully, this will be one of those nights not to be remembered with some of his most prized compositions from Bollywood and more. And it’s probably going to be a waiting day for his monumental musical creations like “Jai Ho,” “Maa Tujhe Salaam,” and more.

Ilaiyaraaja to Wind Up the Festival on October 10
He is one maestro who has no rival anywhere in Indian Cinema and Music that he covered a generation of music. The magnificent ending of Mysuru Yuva Dasara 2024 would be from one of the greatest composers of India-the incomparable Ilaiyaraaja.

It is an indigenous Kannada independent musician, Ilaiyaraaja, who remains one of India’s greatest film artists. He will be performing at 7 PM. It will do justice to some of the most iconic compositions that made him both essentially classical and comprised of richly elaborate melodies which have defined his superlative career. For many, it will also mark the final time for the choral roar marking the crowning jewel of the whole festival.

Conclusion: A Great Musical Jaunt
Mysuru Yuva Dasara 2024 is one high-profile festival, whose folds hold hope to be one of the most memorable musical events ever. First off, from the much-needed audio heroes like Shreya Ghoshal, AR Rahman, Ilaiyaraaja, and more, the festival itself comes alive and celebrates the rich musical variety of the nation.

Such was the popularity of the event which is in consonance with the reason that Mysuru Dasara perfectly balances royalty and excellence.
