Devara Part 1 Box Office Day 6: Jr NTR’s Film Crosses ₹200 Crore Mark

It is really thrilling to see how action drama Devara Part 1, starring Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, is still minting money at the box office under Koratala Siva’s direction. Here are the current box office collections for you on day 6. Devara has become one of the highest-grossing films of the year within just six days, having crossed ₹200 crore on its opening day. It is largely the vacation ahead of Gandhi Jayanti that has widened its fan base by giving a weekend push to tickets on Wednesday.

Awesome Box Office Start
Devara Part 1 opened with a great reception, collecting ₹82.5 cr nett in India on its first day. That gives the maximum possible ground to the film’s box office run. For all which Jr NTR’s fan value, Koratala Siva’s direction and a very high enthusiasm from the fans helped the movie. Mixed review notwithstanding, the film kept up the momentum over the weekend, collecting ₹38.2 cr nett on Day 2 and ₹39.9 cr nett on Day 3.

The box office numbers dipped a notch on days four and five, but still, the film banked ₹14 crore on day five. This was thanks to the national holiday in India on Wednesday, which helped the film bounce back and further boosts its total collection to ₹207.52 crore by the end of day six.

Growth on Gandhi Jayanti
Wednesday also saw the national holiday on Gandhi Jayanti infusing vast strength into the collections of Devara. With the occupancy increasing across a wide range of territories, the film has scored well, especially in the Telugu-speaking states. Interestingly, Devara has reportedly achieved an impressive 49.71% occupancy in the Telugu sector – a sure sign of Jr NTR’s massive following in his home region.

Along with Telugu, the movie worked well in other languages as well. The Hindi version of the movie saw 24.49% occupancy. Meanwhile, the Kannada and Tamil versions saw 31.94% and 25.37% occupancy, respectively. This multilingual appeal has made it one of the factors behind the success of the movie. It managed to reach out to a much larger audience beyond its primary market.

Plot of Devara Part 1
Devara Part 1 is a movie that describes the story of an illegal activity perpetrator in the coast of Yerra Samudram against whom a young man stands. The director has cast Jr NTR in dual roles in the film, namely Devara, the central character, and his son Varadha, known as Deva and Vara for short. Devara becomes a legend as the seas have a powerful protector in him, thanks to his bravery and strength. After years of going about in these nefarious activities, Devara stands against it, provoking a fierce conflict with the guys of Yerra Samudram.

The story revolves around Bhaira, a kushti expert and the main antagonist, played by Saif Ali Khan, while Janhvi Kapoor plays a crucial role in the story as Thangam. Devara stepping down from illegal activities makes his son Vara take up the legacy, which becomes a powerful narrative of power, loyalty, and redemption.

Return of Jr NTR with Solo Films
Devara Part 1 is Jr NTR’s first solo film in six years. His last solo outing was in 2018 with Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, which also cracked the ticket windows hugely. The reason this movie has become a cash cow for the producers is definitely because of Jr NTR’s huge following and his recent global success with RRR (2022) along with Ram Charan.

A much sought-after film by the fans of Jr NTR, while he awaits his entry into a solo venture on the silver screen. Along with it, there is much expectation from this film. The crowd has been giving high praise to the performances rendered by the actor both as Devara and Varadha.

Mixed response from critics
Devara Part 1 is an action-packed flick which, despite breaking all box office records, hasn’t been appreciated by the critics much. While some have genuinely appreciated it for its action sequences and Jr NTR’s powerful performance, others criticize it as being predictable. In the review of the film in Hindustan Times, it states, “If you have paid attention to the trailers of Devara: Part 1, well, this is one story you can predict from a mile away. The first half of the film slowly unravels the setting up of a legend and how he came to be the protector of the seas.

Plots do not have many surprises, but fans of action drama and Jr NTR’s performance will have something to cherish in Devara. While production values such as the film’s visuals and elaborate sets are said to be major strength.

What’s Next for Devara
Now, with Devara Part 1 crossing the Rs 200 crore mark in just six days, all that it does is wait and see how the film will perform for the long haul. The decent opening does indicate that if it goes into its second weekend, it can very well sustain its run, going forward. If the momentum it has has been maintained by the film, then some films, which would have otherwise gone down the list as highest grossers of the year, may have to face stiff competition from this one.

More importantly, Devara Part 1 is a part of a set and therefore success would obviously build up for the sequel. Now, people want to know how the next part of the story of Devara and his son Varadha goes.

Conclusion: A Box Office Success with Room for Growth
Devara Part 1 has turned out to be a commercial success after crossing ₹200 crore in just six days. Even though the critics gave mixed reviews, the performances of Jr NTR and others helped the film connect with the audience through its action-packed plot. It has come out to be that broad attempt. It should do well in all language markets.

In a box office run, the holding capability of the film in strong numbers will be an important fact in determining its final tally. Devara Part 1 has, however, firmly and strongly founded itself as one of the major releases this year. Even higher anticipation can be expected from the sequel.
