Oneplus 13 Launched in October 2024: Design, Battery, Display, and all other Leaked Upgrades

Thus, the Chinese giant is prepping for another flagship in the form of OnePlus 13. After the OnePlus 12 which was appreciated by premium specifications and affordable prices, OnePlus promises more improvements towards performance, battery life, and design with the OnePlus 13. No official release date has been announced yet, but leaks and rumors have provided us with a pretty comprehensive look into what users can expect from OnePlus’ next big release. To that effect, here’s everything we know so far about the OnePlus 13.

Launch Date: When Will the OnePlus 13 Be Released?
While OnePlus has not confirmed the date of the release of the OnePlus 13, OnePlus China President Louis Lee hinted that the highly anticipated flagship would see the light in October 2024. With October now being underway, within the coming days, OnePlus should start announcing the OnePlus 13 and providing more concrete details on the release date.

However, the launch in India may come early 2025 as companies always launch the flagship models first in China and then goes to other markets. The OnePlus 12 launched in India was about eight months ago and depending on the general trend of release dates, OnePlus probably will not rush into international markets, including India.

Design: A Premium Touch with Ceramic Body
The design of the OnePlus 13 is said to revolutionize from that of its predecessor. Among the most exciting rumors of the OnePlus 13, however, is hope of a ceramic body. This will be a step further toward giving the phone a premium feel. According to reports, Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has told that OnePlus is going for real ceramic material for the chassis of the cell phone. A ceramic body will include a smooth, polished finish. This will make the body stronger than plastic and glass so that the OnePlus 13 will have a more handsome look.

The most apparent change will be in the bezel-less design of the OnePlus 13. It is going to sport a 6.8-inch-sized flat surface but a curve around all the edges. It is going to be nearly bezel-less. The punch-hole camera, which is at the front, is likely going to persist, resulting in a super sleek and modern look.

Battery and Charging: Huge Upgrade
One of the biggest upgrades that define the OnePlus 13 is its humongous battery upgrade. According to leaks, this device will be packed with a 6,000mAh battery, making it a huge jump over the 5,400mAh battery for the OnePlus 12. This should help ensure quite a lot of extended battery life for users, making it perfect for the power users who use their devices heavily at work and at leisure.

Other rumors include supporting 100W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging. Fast charging will have users back in the action, quickly recharging anywhere, anytime if required.

Display: Bigger and Better
The new OnePlus 13 will likely wear a 6.8-inch AMOLED, thereby slightly larger than the 6.7-inch on the OnePlus 12. Although the screen will not be curved, all the curved edges around the glass will make for a more thrilling experience because this phone will display an almost seamless and totally immersive screen.

It is going to allow an upgraded refresh rate of 120Hz with the new model, just like the previous one, for smooth scrolling and great gaming experience. OnePlus 13 will be highly compatible with media consumption and mobile gaming with a large display and a high refresh rate.

Performance: Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13 is expected to be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit on October 23, 2024. This means we could expect serious performance improvements and efficiency boosts along with an AI capability improvement.

But besides having up to 24GB of RAM, more than that, other performances in multitasking and gaming will be delivered by the device. As much as the amount of RAM is concerned, this is sure to make even the OnePlus 13 well-equipped to handle the most demanding applications and games, thereby making it a real powerhouse for this device.

Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor for Improved Security
Another feature that would make its debut in the OnePlus 13 would be an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. This latest biometric feature would enable users to unlock their device irrespective of wet, oily, or dirty fingers. The ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is much more reliable and secure compared to the optical sensors where light gets used in fingerprint data capture. Such an addition will provide users with an experience that is both seamless and secure when unlocking their device.

Camera: The Same Primary Camera but Better With the OnePlus 13, you would most likely get the same primary camera that there would be in the OnePlus 12 but with the help of better software and hardware optimizations for greater image quality. The primary camera used previously in the previous model was the 50MP camera which was, quite frankly, pretty much awesome. Here, the OnePlus 13 would build on this and not forget to mention much better image processing techniques and new features to improve photography.

The camera system will likely offer ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, which will help users capture a wide variety of shots at a professional level. Low light performance, autofocus, and stabilization are not bound to be further improved in camera hardware, but based on OnePlus’s recent performances, one can reasonably believe that they will achieve better low-light performance, faster autofocus, and improved image stabilization through their software adjustments.

Price: It will see a slight price hike
While the OnePlus 12 had been priced at Rs 64,999 in India, the OnePlus 13 will command a price increase due to the innumerable upgrades the battery, display, design, and performance have seen. Hence, the top variant that could also go as high as 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB storage could be even more price-intensive.

The price points for this new device are not confirmed yet but may well be a little steeper than its predecessor since these improvements that it brings.

Conclusion: A Worthy Successor with Premium Features
The OnePlus 13 will prove to be the upgrade of OnePlus 12 to be much better by making notable improvements in all aspects, whether related to designing and the battery life or the display and performance. The device still comes in a large 6.8-inch display and packs a high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset while going to allegedly come with ceramic body and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Although it will probably cost way more than the OnePlus 12, the OnePlus 13 seems to be the right candidate for offering value in money and standing on par with its predecessor.
